The NetCo Body-Cam is a “made in Germany” product and is manufactured at our main location in Blankenburg (Harz). Our production manager Torsten answers the most frequently asked questions for you.

How Long Does It Take To Produce A Body Cam?

How long the body cam production takes depends on whether it is an assembly from prefabricated body cam parts or an assembly with body cam individual parts. A standard body cam consists of 47 individual parts. If you were to assemble just one body cam, it would take you about 2.5h. Fortunately, we work mostly with prefabricated assembly sets, which consist of 7 parts. In addition, there are 5 screws that connect the two body cam halves together. With this, a single body cam can be made in less than 30 minutes. In general, however, at least 10 body cams are always assembled at the same time in order to further reduce production time through routine workflows.

Where Are The Components Of A Body Cam Sourced?

That’s easy to answer — from Germany, of course!

The main components of the NetCo Body Cam come from suppliers within a radius of less than 100km. Only the battery is supplied by a partner on the North Sea coast. As far as the small parts are concerned — i.e. the electronics — we have to resort to material from Asia, since Germany hardly has any production lines of its own for electronic components. However, we remain optimistic that this will change again in the future.

What Can Be Customized On The Body Cam?

We have already implemented many body cam projects and made individual body cams for our clients. For example, one client requested a variant without a touch display. This is exactly our strength — we provide the client with what he wants/needs for his body cam application. And to do this, we have our finger on the pulse of the market and regularly exchange ideas with our clients, i.e. precisely those who use the body cam on a daily basis.

In the meantime, our clients can choose from various batteries and carrying systems. The client can use the battery to limit the duration of use and thus help determine the weight of the camera. For the carrying system, we offer two variants. For each variant, the client can choose from a repertoire of over 20 different mounting variants for the body cam. Classical mass production does not exist with us!

How Is The Quality Assurance Done?

We have a strict internal quality process that every colleague who assembles body cams must adhere to. Nevertheless, we test every body cam again before delivery: errors can occur in any manual production, even though the past has shown that assembly errors hardly ever occur due to the comparatively simple body cam structure.

What Happens To Sensitive Client Videos If A Body Cam Needs To Be Repaired?

During a body cam repair, we do not come into contact with client videos, as these are encrypted and can only be decrypted via the user account of the body cam. Only the client has access to this account, so that it is guaranteed that no third parties can access the body cam recordings.

How Is The Issue Of Sustainability And Resource Conservation Dealt With In Body Cam Production?

The NetCo Body Cam was developed in such a way that we can replace each individual part. Thus, the components of a body cam can be reused as often as necessary until the wear limit or electronic senescence has been reached.

Normally, the battery of a body cam — like any other technical device — is replaced after some time.

On Current Events: How Does The Body Cam Production Deal With The Issue Of Corona?

According to our hygiene guidelines, all body cams are disinfected before they are shipped. The body cams or other components of the body cam are treated with commercially available disinfectants and are then packed directly.
