Münster Municipality
The Organization

The Münster Municipality in North Rhine-Westphalia (300.000 inhabitants) is equipping its municipal public order staff with bodycams to increase their safety. The use of the bodycams is limited to certain areas of operation.

Body-Cam Applicationm
Start:
Main Objective:
The main objective is to increase the safety and protection of the Municipal Public Order Service employees by equipping them with bodycams. This makes it possible to document potentially dangerous situations and serves as a deterrent to conflict.
Application:
The bodycams are to be deployed only in specific, predefined locations, in areas with higher conflict potential. This respects the privacy of citizens and addresses data protection concerns to a certain extent.
Feedback:
The introduction of bodycams has both supporters and critics. Data protectionists have expressed concerns about data privacy, while law enforcement staff are optimistic and expect the bodycams to increase security and make their work more effective. Actual experience and feedback will show how successful this project is.
