In winter 2023, the Biathlon World Championships will take place in Oberhof/Thuringia. Since the summer of 2020, NetCo’s construction site cameras have been accompanying this building project from various perspectives. Two Axis PTZ cameras create large-scale panoramas and several detail shots thanks to the 32x optical zoom. The challenge in this project was to monitor the construction progress from only 2 possible camera locations in the Biathlonas well as the Eisarena optimally. In the end, we succeeded: There are large-scale panoramic images of the overall situation, detailed photos of the individual construction sections and, where necessary, people were automatically made unrecognisable by the GDPR-compliant AI solution of the NetCo construction site cameras.

What these cameras can do becomes clear in the following pictures. The circle in the panoramic image (see below) marks the section of the image that can be seen in image no. 2 below, thanks to the cameras’ optical zoom. On normal construction sites, it is thus possible to capture a long shot and a lot of detail automatically with only one camera and to save it in the construction diary.
